10 questions about blogging

Back from Bolkow and already surveying… Soon I’m going to upload pictures (how I hate doing that… 200 pictures and like 10 videos!) and tell you the story of the event, till then I felt like posting this survey. I don’t normally fill up my blog with quizes and stuff, but this fits somehow… :)

10 questions about blogging

1. How long have you been writing a blog?
Since November 2004. Used to keep a handwritten diary beforehand, since December 1992. A real hardcore autobiographer I am, lol. 

2. What does blogging mean to you?
A way to keep in touch with old friends, a device to get to know like-minded people, self expression, a flow of thoughts, a voice of opinion, a creative outlet.

3. What is amazing about blogging?
Besides the obvious reasons (see above, question nr.2) I love the way it tends to get completely out of hand. You let your thoughts flow and your actual babbling may turn into a decent piece of creative writing in the end – and still, you’re not under any pressure.

4. What’s your blogging style?
I don’t really want to label it. I cannot say I cannot write, though. (Eh, can’t believe I just said something like that! It’s surely not my sorry-that-I-exist day, guess it’s the result of listening to too much Amduscia, Suicide Commando and Combichrist in the past few days! XD)

5. How many people read your blog?
I wonder. Certainly more than the ones who comment… I just wonder where the „silent mass” comes from and how the fuck they manage to keep their mouth shut… I can never help myself… ^_^

6. Whose blog do YOU read?
That of real-life friends and likeminded people. And yes, I also read some blogs by complete strangers, if their writing style is enjoyable or they publish stuff about thought-provoking topics. And whatever I find, honestly. :)

7. What kind of filters do you use?
Public entries, friends only, preferred list, private entries. I also often switch between languages  as I tend to get into things a little too deeply and often get carried away. :)
 
8. What do you think is funny when it comes to bloggers and their blog entries?
I think it’s a bit pathetic when people ONLY use their blog for adding stupid videos, hilarious cartoon-pictures, party infos, quizes and surveys, AND post five bulletins about it for others to check it out… as if it was some kind of popularity contest. There is no point in posting something just for the sake of posting something… I wouldn’t fill up my blog with shallow crap.

9. What do you find annoying when reading blogs?
Bad spelling, too many typing mistakes and the lack of punctuation or caps lock. I think the latter should be punished.

10. What do you think it’s ridiculous when it comes to your readers?
I think it’s kinda funny when my so-called friends and buddies say things like they „can’t wait” to catch up with me on msn and stuff, whereas they haven’t even „had the time” to check out my blogs for weeks! LOL, how much they probably care… Also, I don’t understand people who never comment on anything. Don’t they have an opinion? And if they don’t care, what’s the point in opening the blog at all? *curious, seriously*
